Congo multimedia package captures, compels

This package about Rwandan refugees in Congo (Ripples of Genocide: Journey Through Eastern Congo) was nominated for a FlashForward award but didn’t win. It’s my favorite of the four packages in the “Narrative” category. While the navigation can be confusing, and once in a while the audio hiccupped, overall I found this a very compelling, engaging site. I learned a lot. I spent way more time on it than I intended to. I felt enveloped by the story. And there you have it — the earmarks of a great interactive experience.

Ripples of Genocide was produced by bluecadet interactive (see an interesting project summary at their site) for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
