Hiatus close to an end

I will soon be leaving Mexico and abandoning my dependence on Internet cafes, so never fear, this blog will return to its previous condition in a very short time! My Spanish has improved a lot (but it was not very good to begin with). I hope that now I’ll be better able to follow the developments in online journalism in Latin America! (New photos of Guanajuato are online.)

Hi, Omid. I’m not exactly sure what you mean by message design — that sounds more like advertising than journalism to me. We talk about “information design” and “information architecture” in the field of journalism when we are creating new Web sites and online products. We also talk about graphic design. But “media management” in the United States usually refers to the business of running a media corporation, or an operation such as a TV news station or a newspaper.

(I would like to wish you good luck in the football game tomorrow, but I am still in Mexico, so I must cheer for them instead!)
