Seeking feedback about tutorial

On Friday, I posted a shiny new tutorial (PDF, 236 KB) for Audacity — a free audio editing program that works on Windows, Mac and Linux. About 130 people have downloaded it so far. I’m very eager to hear if any of you tried it, and if you did, how was it?

I’ve never touched Audacity before. The tutorial was great to get me started. Thank you!

I spread it all over here in the newsroom. The name Mindy McAdams is now synonymous with “audacity” in Orlando. :)

    I am “audacious”!

I’ve passed this around my team and we’ve noticed a couple things:

    - No mention why to download the LAME encoder, it’s implied that it is for MP3 but doesn’t specifically say that. This could confuse a novice to the program and the terminology.

    - Doesn’t talk about opening a new layer to do a minimal multi-track piece.

Just a couple of things that we noticed. All-in-all though its pretty good. Thanks for creating this.

Brandon, those are two EXCELLENT suggestions. Thank you! I think the multitrack thing requires about two pages to illustrate. Maybe a second tute for that. The LAME explanation can go into the existing document — I will make a v.2 when I have time.
