Unusual photo portfolio sites
Layers magazine has an interesting article online about creating an online photography portfolio:
The Making of a Great Photography Website: Three Distinct Approaches
Have a look — it’s refreshing to see sites that veer away from the cookie-cutter approach. Matthew Mahon’s site is wonderful — quirky and very different. It’s too abstract to work for a photographer who is not well-established, but it’s fun and engaging.
Are there any photo portfolio sites you like that really break the mold?

My coworker Lisa Krantz has a really nice one.

August 13, 2007 at 8:26 amMatt Mahon’s website/webfolio is pretty boring. It may be fun in the sense of quirky but “Engaging” ?? I think not, compared to Lisa Krantz’s which feels more ‘together’.
August 13, 2007 at 11:42 amMatt’s took too long to load, the pics look in disarray, there’s no info or contextualisation and it goes nowhere. Great software doesn’t mean great site. Sorry Matt, but it is bland and unexciting.
