Though this was a while ago, I loved listening to "Flavor of the Month" Podcasts by Jason Harwell and his gang from Georgia. A few guys giving credit to the most "flavorful" things happening, be it the world cup, the fact that one of their cars broke down, or the awe-inspiring local taco stand! Hilarious stuff by guys that look at society with a satirical eye! They're all on itunes for free I believe!

I was thinking that you might want to link or blogroll my (continually) updated list of podcast software. I'm not selling anything on the page.... I just have fun keeping a fresh list of current podcatchers alive and watching who links to it.

Here's the URL for the list...
http://www.buzzmaven.com/podcast-software-list.html

Cheers!

I second Daniel's recommendation on Radio Lab.

Another good podcast that's a recycled radio show, but that is a great example of a couple of print journalists talking about their beat, is <a href="http://www.chicagopublicradio.org/SoundOpinions.aspx" rel="nofollow">Sound Opinions</a> from the producers of This American Life.

And thanks for the tweak to write my podcast round-up blog post that I've been talking about for a while. Maybe this week...

I'd suggest NPR's Planet Money podcast - it is a "pure" podcast (not recycled from radio like TAL or other NPR programs) that still has a lot of the NPR quality to it. And it's extra relevant right now.
