Hi Mindy,

I've recently discovered your blog and want to thank you for all the great information you post here. I also read the Poynter transcript.

I teach journalism part-time and mostly teach a freshmen introductory course called Media Writing. It has required segments on writing for print, online, broadcast, PR; the focus is heavily on learning basic news style, basic reporting, basic ethics and so on. However, I'd like to incorporate some multimedia into the class without taking away from the primary goals or overwhelming these students, who are just out of high school and may have no journalism experience whatsoever. Do you have any suggestions for me on teaching freshmen -- or better yet, a syllabus I might steal from? ; )

Thanks,
Sara
