Engaging Your Students with Online Teaching Tools

1. Online descriptions of homework assignments save time in class and make expectations clear.

2. Use of a blog to communicate with students eliminates e-mail overload (and lost e-mail communications). You could also use a blog to distribute assignments or invite student discussion.

Start your own free blog here:

3. I am using E-Learning discussions as a kind of weekly “essay question”; this replaces previous writing assignments that weren't accomplishing my learning objectives for the students. The PPT shows how to set up discussions in E-Learning.

4. Using a free account at Slideshare.net, you can upload any PowerPoint (and even add voice narration, if you want to).

Please e-mail me if you have any questions.
