Malaysia

Compiled by Mindy McAdams

I created this page for my personal use after I received a Fulbright Scholar grant for lecturing and research in Malaysia (2004-05). For my reactions after the end of my eight-month stay, see this page. You can also read my blog entries from Malaysia.

My university in Malaysia

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)

Address: 40450 Shah Alam, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia

Shah Alam is a "suburb" of Kuala Lumpur, the national capital. It is also the state capital of Selangor, one of 13 states (negeri negeri) in Malaysia. The national capital is a federal territory (wilayah persekutuan), so, like Washington, D.C., it is not part of any state. On a map, Kuala Lumpur is surrounded by Selangor.
